Recreating a poster using Photoshop

I recreated the poster for Jessie J. The poster on the left is the original poster, and the version on the right is the poster I recreated on Photoshop. The font is different as it was not available on Photoshop. As a less experienced user using Photoshop I was not aware of the key features and tools, and therefore had to watch a few tutorial videos in advance to ensure I knew what each feature did. However, completing this task had given me a better understanding of how to use Photoshop which will be beneficial when creating my ancillary products.

Remake of Distorture's Digipak

As I wanted to look further into what is placed on a digipak, I decided to create a remake on Photoshop. Unfortunately, the image was slightly distorted so I was unable to understand what the copy was. As a result, I made the copy up.

I also evaluated my digipak so I know how to improve if I was to do the task again.

Remake of Ed Sheeran's Album Poster

To enhance my Photoshop skills, I created a remake of a poster for an album. This allowed me to explore a wide range of techniques such as using white wash (and balancing colours and opacity).

Here is the poster that I attempted to remake:

Looking for specific fonts and symbols will allow me to practice what will be expected during the ancillary task in the duration of this coursework.

Record Label Research

Researching record labels allowed me to understand the way that different record labels worked. It was interesting to acknowledge how different record labels work with a variety of genres rather than one genre in order to appeal to a wider target audience.

As I was quite confused about the differences between record labels and music publishers, I did some further research. This video in particular allowed me to get rid of any confusions that I had.

Adele, Bastille and Stormzy

Whilst researching, I developed case studies of three different artists who were professionals in their music genre.

Adele, Bastille, and Stormzy are artists and bands for different genres. Here is more details on their work.

Record Label Research

By analysing three different record labels helped me to understand how they operate and why they chose certain elements. It helped me gain knowledge about the comanpy and the different artists they work with.

Compilation of Music Videos

Here is a compilation of my favourite music videos:

This was based on the factors of narrative and editing, which interested me the most.
